The Big Fake Wedding Charleston
It’s no secret that Charleston, South Carolina, is known for its history. But The Big Fake Wedding Charleston just took history and turned it on its side. Its chief inspiration of “Stargazing” implored attendees to explore their curiosities and channel something different for their non-traditional wedding wishes.
Instead of a white gown and veil, the bride donned a feather headpiece and stunning gold beaded gown with a dramatic back. Her bridesmaids wore chic knee-length dresses with unique modern designs. Each lady carried a bouquet with large leaves and hydrangea for a pop of color to complement the setting.
The groom wore a black suit and black tie. But while the bridesmaids matched, the groomsmen each wore a different look but shared a bow tie accessory.
The Memminger Auditorium was transformed into an other-worldly scene. Starburst lights, a white aisle runner, live greenery, and rows of gold chivari chairs balanced whimsical with glamorous.
The blue backdrop was an incredible touch for the vow renewal between the couple.
Reception tables featured various themes and decor. One had small chalkboard globes, petite flowers, votives, and blue table numbers. Another featured blue stemware. One even boasted a light gold floral table linen with a centerpiece overflowing with glossy greenery.
A final look was a polished creation of bold stripes and gold place settings, complete with a delicate floral touch.
The lite bites for attendees included an array of out-of-this-world desserts. Speckled macaroons and trays of cupcakes served as perfect grab-and-go sweets.
One cake was a three-tier creation with a special message on the bottom layer, a glittery blue center layer, and a gold top layer.
A softer design featured an ombre blue and white creation with white flower garnish.
Under the dramatic lighting in the venue, the main couple enjoyed a dance together while attendees admired the offerings of the evening’s vendors.
A traditional send-off just wouldn’t do for this event. The couple was feted one last time with a shower of confetti and streamers, pooling at their feet on the dancefloor.
Each Big Fake Wedding is a unique experience, but this one truly sent couples into another galaxy with its inspiring style. The Big Fake Wedding Charleston truly showed how a couple can be the stars of their big day, celebrating in a way that transcends tradition.
