Vintage Inspired Weddings

Vintage Inspired Weddings.

No matter how many modern wedding trends come and go, vintage-inspired weddings will always be in style. But in today’s world, how do you make your wedding feel vintage and yet, authentic? From the engagement ring to a vintage car, incorporating a few specific touches and keeping romance front and center will bring you the vintage-inspired wedding of your dreams.

Step 1: The Ring
Vintage style engagement rings are the perfect starting point for wedding inspiration. Classic diamond shapes like ovals have become increasingly popular again and a solitaire diamond or those with small diamond accents always exhibit that cherished vintage appeal.

Pear-shaped rings, halo settings and yellow gold are also timeless ring styles that remind us of vintage engagement pieces. Add these to a filigree setting to incorporate gorgeous metal work from decades past. And, there’s no prettier way to house and photograph that beautiful ring than with an elegant velvet ring box in your statement wedding color!

Step 2: Lace Fabrics
Incorporating timeless fabrics is another way to add vintage appeal and using lace is a no-brainer when it comes to vintage-style weddings, especially in the bridal gown. Lace wedding gowns are aplenty from today’s designers, and come in all shapes and sizes. And there are even modern interpretations of lace to give your bridal look a fresh twist.

You can also find other ways to incorporate lace throughout your big day. Lace table linens, bouquet ribbons, and even fondant accents on the wedding cake are small but impactful details. You can even incorporate additional lace bridal accessories such as your shoes and garter.

Step 3: Accent Colors
Gilded furniture fosters immediate vintage glamour, too. Gold chairs add brilliance when balanced with soft hues like white or light blue. And you can also think about using gold candelabras on your tables, gold flatware for place settings and gold picture frames throughout your design to give your day a regal flair.

Vintage weddings are best suited with soft, neutral colors. Dusty blues and pinks, ivory and taupe are all great hues to inspire your vintage wedding vision. And since flowers are also a must, white or cream-colored florals echo the vintage romance you’re hoping to achieve.

Step 4: A Vintage Car
You can never go wrong with a vintage car, like a Rolls Royce or Bentley, for your wedding entrance or exit. Place flower garlands along the back or a pretty wreath on the front to make it wedding and photo worthy for your big day.

Step 5: Stationary
Think about the way you present your signage and paper pieces. By using calligraphy throughout, you incorporate a cohesive vintage feel from the invite to the reception. And choosing a design for your invitation suite that matches the vintage aesthetic will give your guests a glimpse into your vision as soon as they open the envelope.

A vintage-inspired wedding harkens back to simpler times, where classic style and romance reigned supreme. Vintage rings, classic cars and timeless fabrics are just a few of the ways you can create vintage style. With a little creativity, you can transform any space and event into a wedding designed for the ages.
