South TX Engagement Photos from Joshua Ratliff Photography. Hayden and Samantha have a very natural, Bohemian style and share a love for the outdoors. Their South Texas engagement session perfectly captured their laid-back and adventurous spirits with a 360° view of the gorgeous and remote Davis Mountains State Park.

It was the perfect day for photos as the sun was soft but inviting. They started on the grounds of the historic Indian Lodge hotel, where the whitewashed architecture mixed with the Southwest landscape.

Samantha chose to wear a white lace dress and turquoise jewelry. Hayden looked right in his element with a flannel shirt, fleece vest, jeans, and boots. They looked comfortable, peaceful, and right at home.

Their golden retriever, Beau, made a special appearance, as well. Samantha created a flower collar for him to feel and look special for the occasion.

They strolled through the grass with their dog, all boasting radiant smiles.

The photographer captured some classic up-close shots in the shadows of the trees. This was an opportunity to see Samantha's natural makeup and curled dark brown hair.

She hugged Hayden and also, showed off her beautiful diamond.

The second half of the shoot took place in Marfa, Texas. Its fun and eclectic atmosphere was an idyllic stop for these two.

They also did an outfit change to fit the location.

Samantha chose a leather jacket and coral-colored maxi skirt. Hayden sported a simple long-sleeved gray shirt and jeans. It was a relaxed and coordinated fit.

They draped their shoulders with a Southwestern patterned blanket.

Their cozy snuggles were sweet and sentimental. They ended the session with a romantic kiss in the most natural of surroundings as the sun was setting.

There's so much to adore about this South TX engagement shoot. Each location poured out an organic and natural essence that was refreshing and pure. Samantha and Hayden's engagement session focused on their shared passions and interests and most importantly, their lifelong commitment to love.
