Portsmouth Virginia Winter Styled Wedding Shoot

More and more these days, brides are getting away from the “over-the-top” wedding look and gravitating towards cleaner, simpler designs and décor. This styled shoot showcases the wonderful way just a few statement pieces and dusty pastels can have just as much of an impact as a room full of glitz and glamour. styled winter shoot

White cakes will never go out of style. Although the crazy, dreamy and daring designs we’ve seen as of late are interesting and unique, there’s something that will forever be tasteful about a beautiful, buttercream-covered white cake. Top it off with a delicate flower to add some subtle detail.

Most brides love to sparkle in some way, shape or form and here, this lovely lady casts the glittering glow from her beaded gown. Her dark, long locks are styled in a beautiful updo and her dress is grand and voluminous. Her makeup was created with a pink color palette and the color is echoed in the flowers she carries.

The flowers in this shoot are gorgeous for incorporating winter whites and greens. The subdued green leaves accompanying the buds in the arrangements and bouquet are the perfect complement to the pink roses. The delicate touch of color in the flowers is a wonderful, subtle touch.

Centerpieces consist of the same flower bundles, but also, tall white branches with hanging crystals and candle votives for added romance. Candlelight is an affordable and simple way to add splendor to any tablescape.

Instead of fancy linens, the designer chose to layer different fabrics to create a beautiful contrasting look. A lace cloth is laid atop a brown linen, which all sits on top of a white tablecloth. Vintage, weather-worn chairs are dressed up with panels of tulle, which are a fabulous alternative to the standard banquet hall chair rental.

This wedding look was decorated with simplicity in mind. By using a few key elements and leaving all the other small details at bay, one can still create a grand vision. Brides can even change out the pink for another statement color and still achieve the modest magnificence of this shoot. This is a look and feel any bride can achieve these days, one that exudes a quality of simple sophistication.
