Heritage Hills OKC Engagement
Taylor and Darrell chose to take their engagement photos at the historic Heritage Hills neighborhood in downtown Oklahoma City. And when the couple told their photographer they had access to one of the historic homes, she jumped at the chance to capture them at this gorgeous house in their old stomping grounds. After six years of dating, Darrell flew Taylor from their new home in Virginia back home to Oklahoma City for a surprise proposal. This was where Taylor’s sisters also had a lovely shower planned for her.
Since the couple has so much of their history embedded in the city, it comes as no surprise they secured a true gem of a location.
The traditional style of the house is perfect for their engagement session with its white-washed exterior, dark roof, and balcony. Taylor and Darrell hold hands outside on the steps for a few sophisticated shots.
With Darrell’s back and profile to the camera, Taylor shows off her vivid blue dress and nude heels. Her hair is softly curled and she wears the best accessory of all for an engagement photo – a bright smile. He matches her in a navy blue jacket and dark jeans.
An ivy-covered wall is the next stop, where the two sit close on a bench below. The sunlight looks elegant as it peaks through the trees.
The happy couple are snapped holding hands and smiling at the camera for one classic moment.
The abundance of inspiration in this historic location is resplendent. A crystal clear pool, a tree soaking up rays late in the day, and greenery all mixed in wonderfully with the aged architecture.
The couple exchange affectionate kisses together in the lush and verdant location, and find steps to sit on to show off Taylor’s beautiful ring.
As they close out their engagement session, Darrell throws his jacket over his shoulder and the two, quite literally, stroll off into the sunset, ready to start the next leg of their journey - becoming husband and wife.
