Dreamy Wooded Wedding Inspiration
Near the historic copper mining town of Superior, Arizona, sits the Boyce Thompson Arboretum and this location was everything and more photographers had in mind for a wooded wedding style shoot. With a Tuscan flair set in the middle of Arizona, one couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the tucked away charm of this venue. The vision for this shoot was born from a one-on-one workshop hosted by Karie Denny of Ace and Whim for photographer Gabrielle Edona. The gorgeous setting paired with a few small unexpected and unique touches offer amazing inspiration for those who yearn for the natural and unassuming.
The shoot features an invitation that isn't your standard stock or parchment. It is an inscribed piece of leather! It doesn’t get any more original than that.
The bride wears her brunette locks down by her shoulders. She dons a beautiful flowy dress complete with detailed straps, pleated fabric on the bodice, and a beaded belt.
The bouquet is a masterpiece. It features anemones, pink and peach roses, assorted greenery, and white veronica. It brings all the elements of the shoot together.
The groom dons a classic and crisp black suit with a black bow tie. The bride and groom make a striking pair.
The bride walks freely down the wooded path as her gown provides movement and comfort.
The bride and groom join together under the shade of a nearby tree as the sunshine dances off the water.
The bride doesn’t need shoes for her adventure in the woods can be explored with bare feet. She balances on an old log, gracefully holding up the hem of her dress.
After admiring the water and each other, the couple finds their way to the best kept secret of the property – a small stone cottage tucked away beneath the foliage. They share a kiss against the cottage wall.
The groom fastens his jacket and the bride studies her bouquet as the sundial tells the time.
Now with her hair swept halfway up, the bride readies herself for another change. She tucks a veil in the back of her hair and lets it softly fall over her face.
The groom joins up with her on the path leading from the cottage and the two look ready to walk down the aisle and face the world as one.
This shoot encompasses romance, elegance, and a freedom you only get by long strolls in the woods, surrounded by the soothing quiet of nature. One might think it a challenge find a venue with a Tuscan garden feel in Arizona but it is certainly there thanks to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum.
