Chicago Wedding in Winter
From the outside, Hope and Jason seem so different, but their eclectic Chicago wedding proved how two different worlds coming together is a beautiful thing. Described as a “north meets south, city meets country,” type of relationship, their wedding showcased their commonality: a love for all things antique, cultured, and handmade. And their family and friends were the ties that bound it all together. From the outset, this wedding was special in so many ways. The invitation suite was a gilded, antique collection that boast vintage and sophisticated qualities.
Hope’s bridal style was also very unique and exclusive to her personality. She wore a classic V-neck gown with ruching at the waist that proved versatile for any accessory she picked. She walked down the aisle in adorable gray shoes and focused on antique-inspired jewelry.
Jason kept true to his country side by wearing brown cowboy boots for his wedding day. But don’t let that fool you – he cleaned up nice with brown pants, matching vest and a tweed jacket with a white pocket square.
They stopped for a first look moment outside amid the snow-covered ground before the ceremony. With his back turned, Hope, who covered her shoulders and clutched her pink and white-filled bouquet, touched Jason on the shoulder. They were both elated at seeing the person in front of them, eager to get the ceremony underway.
The couple also gathered with their bridal party for a few more pre-ceremony photos. In keeping with the theme, Hope’s bridesmaids wore blush dresses, ivory shawls, and most notably, stunning short veils across their faces, appealing to turn-of-the-century wedding fashion.
The ceremony took place at the bride’s church - St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church - where the pews along the aisles were decorated with bunches of eucalyptus.
They exchanged vows in a traditional church ceremony and were announced husband and wife in front of their loving congregation.
When they exited the church, they were beaming from ear to ear as guests showered them with confetti.
The reception was where their tastes truly shined. The celebration took place at Studio Manarchy, where everything vintage, antique, and timeless was incorporated.
Old typewriters, aged greeting cards, vintage bottles and more helped bring their theme to life.
The head table was designated with the bride and groom’s chairs outfitted with swags of roses and greenery, and the crowns used in their wedding ceremony.
Vintage china was included at each place setting and tables were decorated with blush roses and generous candles.
Their naked wedding cake was a simple creation that featured three tiers with a dainty garnish of berries. But the inclusion of a more creative cake spoke to their appreciation for handmade things.
Hope’s reception look was ingenious. She removed her veil and grabbed a colorful floral cardigan that was still perfectly bridal and incredibly beautiful with her gown.
The couple enjoyed dancing with their friends in the industrial-inspired venue, with its large circular window, exposed brick, and unique ambiance.
Hope and Jason have an impeccable sense of detail and this took them far in the planning of their big day. They stayed true to their individuality, and also who they are as a couple, and the result was a breathtakingly beautiful collision of what makes Hope and Jason Hope and Jason!
